Spur Golf News

It was another AMAZING

evening for Scramble Time Tuesday on August 16! It was the perfect weather for enough people to show up to form six teams and pay out three places. Four of the six teams rolled up to the clubhouse after the regular round having shot 5 under par and a score of 31. A tournament-style playoff commenced between the teams of Tyler Luke, Freddy Gonzalez, Jason and Amy Tanner, the Team of Cody Preston, Landon White, Mike and Janie Day, the team of Landon Hinson, Cammie Day Walker, John Foster and Daniel Perez and the team of Jimmy Ashley, Justin Posey, Eddie and Lesli Clark. Beginning the playoff on Hole No. 7, the teams of Hinson, Walker, Foster and Perez, the team of Luke, Gonzalez, Tanner and Tanner and the team of Ashley, Posey, Clark and Clark each made par to advance on to Hole No. 8.

All three teams again tied No. 8 to advance to the No. 9 hole to continue the ongoing fight for the winnings! The team of Luke, Gonzalez, Tanner and Tanner came out on top for the First Place winnings on the No. 9 hole with their eagle shot. The remaining two teams decided to have a “chip off” to see who would get to take home second place and third place money for the week. Landon Hinson’s incredible chip shot straight into the cup sealed the deal for second place for him and his teammates, Walker, Foster and Perez!

The team of Ashley, Posey, Clark and Clark took home the third place money.

Congratulations to Mike Day for planting his drive on the No. 8 hole at 20’8” from the cup to take home those winnings for the week.

No one drove the No. 1 hole, so that money pot will roll over to continue to grow.

We are thanking the Good Lord above for blessing our area and the course with the much needed and welcomed rains! The greens and the course are continuing to improve! A load of sod was delivered and placed out, so things should continue to get better and better. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped get the project done—we appreciate you!

Until next week — God bless you all!
