It was the best Homecoming that anyone could remember in a long time.
Despite a little West Texas rain shower on Thursday afternoon, the rest of the three-day annual extravaganza went off without a hitch.
When the clouds parted Thursday night, solar lights in Rickels Park lit for the way for the Homecoming Court, and junior Bucki Smith was announced Homecoming queen before throngs of exes, friends and family members.
On Friday night, the Spur Bulldogs defeated Whiteface 60-12 before a packed crowd of enthusiastic fans, who had a great time at the dance afterwards
Saturday’s Homecoming Farmers’ Market brought out a drove of folks to sample local wares and the sidewalks were lined with people for the Homecoming Parade.
