In the regular monthly meeting of the Spur Independent School District board on September 26, trustees unanimously approved interlocal agreements/ memorandums of understand with the City of Spur for emergency assistance and Dickens County for emergency assistance.
The board also unanimously approved the SLC Consortium-Interlocal Agreement with Patton Springs ISD.
In other action, trustees unanimously adopted HB 3033 resolution designating the district’s nonbusiness days for the 2023 calendar year and unanimously adopted HB 3033 resolution designating the district’s nonbusiness days for 2024 calendar year.
The board also unanimously adopted a GKG (LOCAL) policy regarding volunteers.
In other action, the board unanimously approved Senate Bill 763 Resolution regarding chaplains being allowed to volunteer at Spur ISD.
Trustees unanimously approved Spur ISD applying for the 2022-2025 Safety and Facilities Enhancement Grant (SAFE).
The following members were present: Roy Sanchez, Pat Ortiz, Cody Schmidt, Andrew Adams, Terri Wyatt, Matt Humphreys, and Casey Smith.
Others present were: Superintendent Craig Hamilton; High School Principal Tanya Phillips; Elementary Principal Jose Molina; Athletic Director Tate Clark; Tommy Dill; Business Manager Bridgette Zarate; and Superintendent Secretary April Ortiz.
