In the regular monthly meeting of the Spur Independent School District board on Monday, Oct. 24, the trustees agreed to approve December supplemental pay for active Spur ISD employees.
In other action, the board had a public hearing prior to the board meeting on FIRST ratings. Superintendent Craig Hamilton presented the board with Spur ISD receiving a Superior Achievement Rating on the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (First rating) at 7:03 P.M. The public hearing concluded at 7:10 P.M.
After the FIRST hearing in the regular session, Principal Jose Molina presented the board with the Elementary School report, and Principal David Burton presented the board with the Secondary report.
The board then approved unanimously the West Texas Food Service Interlocal Agreement with Region 17 Service Center for 2023–24.
In next action, the board approved the TASB Policy Update 119 as presented.
Trustees then approved the purchase of two passenger- type vehicles from Blake Fulenwider Chevrolet of Eastland, Texas.
In the superintendent’s report, Hamilton discussed with the board the ESSER II and ESSER III state validation in addition to, the MSB training and Medicaid reimbursement for the 2022–23 school year. Hamilton discussed with trustees trash collection services for Spur ISD.
The board convened in executive session at 8:41 p.m., then ended its closed session at 9:28 p.m. After no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:00 p.m. Present were board president Barry Ferguson and trustees Roy Sanchez, Pat Ortiz, Terri Wyatt, and Matt Humphreys. Andrew Adams and Casey Smith were absent. Others present were Superintendent Craig Hamilton; High School principal David Burton; Elementary School principal Jose Molina; business banager Jodi Martinez; superintendent secretary April Ortiz, and Tanya Phillips.
