Spur ISD extends superintendent’s contract in Jan. meeting

COMPILED FROM MINUTES In the regular monthly meeting of the Spur Independent School District Board on January 23 trustees unanimously voted to order a school board election for May 6, 2023 to elect trustees for Place 5, and Place 6 (At Large) positions.

In other action the board unanimously approved Laurie Hinson and Mindy Little as election officials for the May 6, 2023 school trustee election.

Trustees then unanimously approved a joint election agreement between Spur ISD and the City of Spur.

Superintendent Craig Hamilton discussed with the board the school safety grant. The Board convened in executive session. After executive session, a motion was made by Roy Sanchez and seconded by Terri Wyatt to extend Craig Hamilton’s current contract 3 year from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2026. The motion passed 7-0.
