A special public hearing was held before the September meeting of the Spur Independent School District. Business manager Jodi Gonzalez presented the board with Spur ISD receiving a Superior Achievement Rating on the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST rating).
In the regular board meeting, superintendent Craig Hamilton discussed with the board with the facilities report, the enrollment report, the Texas Department of Agriculture IPM audit and the upcoming SPED audit.
In presentations and discussion, Hamilton and elementary principal Joe Molina presented the Spur ISD Asynchronous Plan for 2020.
The superintendent also shared with the board the Spur ISD’s School Safety & Security Audit for the 2020–2021 school year.
In other action, the board unanimously approved the Business Office Administrative Procedures Manual for 2020–2021.
They also unanimously approved the Spur ISD Federal Grant Policies & Procedures Manual for 2020–2021 and the SLC Consortium–Interlocal Agreement with Patton Springs ISD serving as the fiscal agent for July 2021–June 30, 2022.
Tax deeds 5478, 5404, 5399, 5385, and 5274 were unanimously approved as presented.
The board also approved Bradley Marvel as the Spur ISD IPM coordinator.
Members present were president Barry Ferguson, who called the meeting to order with the following members present: Terri Wyatt, Matt Humphreys and Roy Sanchez. Pat Ortiz was present at 7:15 p.m., Rick Paschall at 7:20 p.m., and Casey Smith at 7:35 p.m.
Others present were superintendent Craig Hamilton, high school principal Michael Norman, elementary principal Jose Molina, business manager Jodi Gonzalez and superintendent secretary Hannah Arnold.
