Community Shelter Procedure
Sign-in: Sign-in sheets will be available on the counter of the concession stand for all community members to sign in.
Pets: If pets are brought to the school, they must be on a leash or in a carrier. Pets along with their owners will go to the band hall and must stay in that area until the “all clear” is given. Pet owners are responsible of any mess that has occurred due to their pet being brought into the building.
During school hours: School employees and students will follow proper procedures and be moved quickly to safety in the auditorium dome until school officials are given word of “all clear.”
All community members will have access to the gymnasium portion of the facilities. The main entrance of the domes will be unlocked and made available, as needed, for individuals to seek shelter in an emergency. Designated members of the school staff have been assigned to assist community members when entering and seeking shelter in the proper area. Everyone will be seated in the basketball stands. No one will be allowed to stand at the glass doors, in the concession area, or in the viewing room of the basketball dome. All individuals will be asked to follow the guidance of the staff to the area that has been designated as community shelter.
No school in session: The facilities will be unlocked and made available when emergency notification has occurred. The auditorium will be used as the location for all individuals seeking shelter when no students are on campus. No one will be allowed to stand at the glass doors or in the concession area of the dome. All individuals will be asked to follow the guidance of the staff or individual assisting to the area that has been designated as community shelter.
