On Saturday, November 13, the Spur Police Department and the Dickens County Sheriff’s Office responded to a request for officers in in Spur. Upon arrival Chief Billy R. Spears of the Spur PD contacted three female subjects, who informed Chief Spears of a possible sexual assault of a child, according to a statement by Spur PD.
After receiving assistance from the Texas Rangers, Spears said, the determination was made to remove the females and other family members from the residence for their safety. Interviews were conducted and search and arrest warrants were sought and received. Later in the afternoon these warrants were executed, and a male subject was taken into custody and transported to the Dickens County jail, where he was booked on the charge of sexual assault of a child. This is a continuing investigation, and no names have been released.
