CONCRETE PROGRESS Although renovation of Spur’s Swenson Park swimming pool stalled midsummer due to fluctuations in the price of ready-mix concrete, on July 19 Mayor Louise Jones told the Spur city council that concrete was scheduled to be poured August 4.
Construction by Luxe Pools of Lubbock is under the supervision of Argo Blockchain head of design and construction Matt Nackino; Argo pledged its support to the project in an announcement last fall and began work on the site in spring 2022. Some of the concrete forms will require repair after wind storm damage, Jones said. Design changes approved by city council will also be implemented. | THE TEXAS SPUR
