The Spur Senior Citizens Center, located at 210 Burlington Avenue, will be hosting a health fair Thursday, May 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Sponsored by the South Plains Association of Governments, the health fair will feature many vendors, including SPAG, Calvert Health, Garrison Institute of Aging, Catholic Charities and Legal Aid of Northwest Texas.
In addition, a representative of the Kent County Nursing Home will be on hand to do blood sugar checks, and representatives of Medicare will be on hand.
The event is free for everyone over 60.
According to Spur Senior Center director Debbie Pritchett, the Garrison Institute of Aging will be providing information on dementia and Alzheimer's Disease and legal aid will have information for those on fixed incomes who might have problems with back taxes.
Pritchett said that the senior center will have a books display from their library of books on health and senior issues.
Lunch will be served.
