Spur students competed in tennis last week at South Plains College, and received a variety of honors.
In Boys Singles B, Jeffery Mathews took 1st place, winning his last match 9–7. Kayden Martinez placed 3rd, winning his first, falling just short in his second and winning in a tiebreaker in his third. Eoin Horn fell just short of winning the consolation bracket in a tough loss of 6–8.
In Girls Doubles B, Paige Gonzalez and Alyssa Fulmer took 1st place, winning their matches 8–0, 8–7 (with a tiebreaker of 12–10) and 8–2.
In Boys Doubles B, Zek Mosley and Kolbey Adams took 1st, winning their matches 8–5, 8–4 and 8–1, Austin Fulmer and Liam Horn took 2nd place, winning their first two matches 8–7 (with a tiebreaker of 8–6) and 8–6, falling just short in their last match.
