SPUR—The 2020–21 Spurettes had just edged into the District 1 coaches’ poll—tied for #25—when they took on the #10 Guthrie Lady Jags Friday night at the Dog Domes. But after an unpromising first half Spur came back reinvigorated to dominate Guthrie 36-25. “I’m proud of these girls—they played their hearts out, said Spurettes head coach David Castollon after the team assembled on center court for the district trophy presentation. “It’s a big win on Senior Night.” The Spurettes, along with the Lady Jags and the Jayton Lady Jays, will advance to the first round of playoffs this week. | TEXAS SPUR
