Stonewall Memorial’s first million-dollar month

The trustees of the Stonewall Memorial Hospital District (SMHD) met in regular session on Monday, June 25, 2018. Topics discussed included favorable finances, an update on the new electronic medical records system and the groundbreaking for the new Senior Independent Living Facility and Long Term Care Nursing Facility set for Monday, July 9, 2018, at 10 a.m.

Hospital administrator Andy Kolb reported that the SMHD booked its first million-dollar month in May 2018, the best financial performance in the history of SMHD. Kolb reported that the hospital patient census had returned to normal after recent highs.. In further financial news, SMHD received a refund of $4,597 from the Stonewall County Appraisal District. Kolb also discussed possible repercussions and strategies for ameliorating any possible effects of the federal government’s planned phase-out of Medicare and Medicaid waivers in 2020. The financial report was unanimously approved.
