Stonewall receives $394,700 for new nursing home

TEMPLE — State Director for Rural Development Edd Hargett today announced that the USDA is investing $394,700 to improve critical community facilities in Texas. USDA is making the investments through the Community Facilities Direct Loan Program.

“USDA Rural Development is pleased to provide this funding to Stonewall County Hospital District,” said Hargett. “By utilizing the community facilities programs, projects such as these provide citizens of rural communities modern and reliable infrastructure.”

Stonewall County Hospital District is receiving a $394,700 loan to furnish the new nursing home with equipment throughout the new facility. The new nursing facility is expected to open in January 2020. The district will have to obtain licensing from the state of Texas, and this license cannot be obtained without the facility being furnished.
