In the regular monthly meeting of the Patton Springs Independent School District on Nov. 13, 2023, Superintendent Bryan White submitted his resignation and said he will retire on January 31, 2024. The board accepted his resignation.
White also reported and discussed current enrollment and attendance, awards and honors, school accountability, and transportation/maintenance, safety and housing projects. White also reported results of the November 7, 2023 bond election: Proposition A, For 72, Against 109; Proposition B, For 76, Against 104.
Trustees then voted unanimously to adopt the order canvassing returns and declaring results of bond election, as presented.
In other action, the board heard the August 31,2023,auditreportbyKristyFrye,CPA, Bolinger, Segars, Gilbert & Moss, LLP, and thenvotedunanimouslytoacceptthereport.
The board unanimously approved the 2024–25 West Texas Food Service Cooperative Interlocal Agreement.
Trustees approved the cyber security plan as presented unanimously and unanimously approved the updated 2023-24 school calendar.
Board members in attendance were Shane Roberts, Ronda Dalton, Lana Burson, Clayt Bridge, Gary Bridge and Ernest Ramirez. Board member Dave Keith was absent. Superintendent Bryan White, Business Manager Becky Hodges, and Principal Sandra Ramirez were present. Guests present were Kristy Frye, senior auditor, Bolinger, Segars, Gilbert & Moss, L.L.P. Also attending the meeting was Louise Sims.
