Texas Department of Agriculture new field representative to be located in Quitaque

The Texas Department of Agriculture has hired a new regional field representative for the Panhandle and South Plains region, which covers the top 44 counties of Texas.

The primary role of this position is to help market and advertise Texas agricultural products, including helping small businesses participate in the Go Texan program.

Linay Runnels Williams of Quitaque has accepted this position, taking the place of representative Carol Faulkenberry, who was based in Canyon from 2018 to 2022, and before her, Matt Williams, was based in Lockney.

Faulkenberry has accepted a TDA regional field representative position in Central Texas.

Williams said she was raised on a small cowcalf operation in Hondo, Texas, and has pursued her passion for agriculture since. Prior to her career with TDA, Linay worked with various agricultural companies, from corporate to small business, to help market to agricultural audiences.

Williams said she and her husband, Brazos, live in Quitaque and take pride in raising their two sons in a small, agricultural community. She hopes to use her work with TDA “to help support the rural communities of the Texas Panhandle and to empower the people who make the agriculture industry so incredible.”
