The Texas Plains Trail Region, the state’s official heritage tourism program for the 52 counties of the Plains and Panhandle, is pleased to announce the selection of Allison Kendrick, CTE, as executive director effective December 1, 2019.
She succeeds Dr. Barbara Brannon, who has retired after seven years with TPTR.
Kendrick, who began her tourism career as intern and later director of communications for the Abilene-based Texas Forts Trail Region, has served as technology marketing manager for the Abilene Convention and Visitor Bureau since 2014. A graduate of Hardin-Simmons University with a B.A. in public relations and advertising, she has lived and worked in Abilene until relocating to Lubbock in fall 2019.
“I love the tourism industry and see the Plains Trail directorship as the next great adventure,” says Kendrick. “I’m excited to begin a new chapter in West Texas and build relationships with the people that make this region so special.”
As part of the change in leadership, the TPTR office will return from Spur to Lubbock, where mail address remains the same, P. O. Box 88, Lubbock, TX 79408. The organization’s email contact remains info@TexasPlainsTrail.com.
