Barbecue fundraiser for Motley Senior Citizens July 18
MATADOR—The Motley County Senior Citizens is having a fund raiser Sunday, July 18. They will start serving at 11:30 a.m., and dine-in and take out are available.
The Matador Health is sponsoring this event for the Senior Center. They will be
serving barbecue brisket, potato salad, beans, desserts and drink. Minimum donation of $10.

60th Annual Post Art Guild Show, Sale July 20-24
POST—The 60th Annual Post Art Guild Show and Sale will take place July 20–24, 2021. The Guild has posted its call for entries and will be taking submissions Tuesday, July 20 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Community Center, 113 W. Main Street in Post. Fees to enter are per piece: $10 for non-member and students and $5 for members. Cash prize categories.
Judging will take place Tuesday, July 22 and then will be open for viewing. The exhibit is open to the public Thursday, July 22, 1 to 5 p.m.; Friday, July 23, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, July 24 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A reception is scheduled for Saturday, July 24, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. followed by an awards show at 3:30 p.m.

Burke’s Outlet opening in former Beall’s Department Store location July 22
SNYDER—As a part of its corporate restructuring Beall’s will reopen as Burke’s Outlet at its former Beall’s location, 3210 College Avenue, on July 22 in Snyder.
Burke’s Outlet will open in 16 locations that week in Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.
In Texas, in addition to Snyder, they will open in Taylor, Fredericksburg, Liberty and Vernon.
Burke’s Outlet sells clothing and shoes for men, women and children, home goods, beauty supplies and jewelry.
Burke’s Outlet marks the second new business franchise that is opening in Snyder in July. Golden Chick fast food chicken will be opening at 1899 30th Street later this month.
