5th Annual Shrimp Boil Fundraiser slated for Sept. 19 in Matador
MATADOR—The 5th Annual Motley County Senior Citizens Shrimp Boil Fundraiser is set for Sunday, Sept. 19. Serving gets under way at 11:30 a.m. at the Senior Center at 621 Stewart Avenue in Matador.
Menu includes fresh from the coast shrimp, sausage, corn, potatoes, dessert and drink.
Due to Covid concerns the fundraiser will be take-out only.
Donations are requested for plates for the fundraiser.

29th Annual Slingin’ Sammy Baugh Golf Tournament set for Sept. 24 at WTC
SNYDER—The registration deadline for the Sammy Baugh Golf Tournament is Friday, Sept. 24, 2021 at Western Texas College in Snyder.
The tournament is a four-person scramble. It will be a split field with payout in two flights.
Shotgun start is at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The fee is $200 per team.
First place will receive $500 per flight, second place will receive $400 per flight and third place will receive $300 per flight.
Participants can register at the WTC Pro Shop. All proceeds benefit the Snyder ISD Boys’ and Girls’ Golf Program.

Next Old Glory Musical set for Sept. 25
OLD GLORY—Old Glory, a town of about 100 eleven miles east of Aspermont, celebrates music every month with a music jam they call the Old Glory Musical at their community center. The next one is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 25. Festivities get underway on the last Saturday of the month around 5:30 p.m. in their community center, and locals cook desserts and snacks and sell them in a concession stand.
At their last Musical in August, Tumbleweed Smith of the Sounds of Texas syndicated radio show and newspaper column and his wife were on hand. Smith is working on a segment about the Musical for his radio show. He also came for pie. In addition to the Smiths, about 60 people attended the last musical.

Punkin’ Day vendor applications available for Oct. 9 event
FLOYDADA--Vendor applications for Punkin’ Day 2021 are now open to the public. The event is slated for the second Saturday in October. Follow the link www.floydadachamber.org/punkindays to download an application today.
Due to the large crowd, the Floydada Chamber needs help providing activities for all ages. If you are a non-profit and provide an activity at your booth, you can set up at no charge.
Please contact the Chamber office to ensure there are not multiple organizations setting up identical activities.
