Ritz Theater troupe to perform comedy, ‘Drinking Habits’ this week
SNYDER—The Ritz Community Theatre’s production of “Drinking Habits” will begin its two weekend run the first week in November.
The farce takes place in the late 1960s at a small convent known as the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing. The convent is home to a grape orchard the nuns use to make grape juice that they sell. But two nuns have a secret they are keeping from Mother Superior—they are making wine behind her back.
With the news of Rome visiting and shutting down convents, Mother Superior is on guard for anyone sent to spy on the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing. When two reporters begin investigating who in the small town is making the award-winning wine, mistaken identities, lies and a mixup of grape juice and wine bottles disrupt the convent’s routine work with great hilarity.
Performances will be Nov. 4, 6, 18 and 20 at 7 p.m., and Nov. 7 and 21 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for students and can be purchased at the door or online at wwww.ritzcommunitytheatre.org.
