Ritz Theater troupe to perform comedy, ‘Drinking Habits’ next week

SNYDER—The Ritz Community Theatre's production of "Drinking Habits" will finish its two week run next Sunday afternoon, Nov. 21 with a matinee at 2 p.m.

The farce takes place in the late 1960s at a small convent known as the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing. The convent is home to a grape orchard the nuns use to make grape juice that they sell. But two nuns have a secret they are keeping from Mother Superior—they are making wine behind her back.

With the news of Rome visiting and shutting down convents, Mother Superior is on guard for anyone sent to spy on the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing. When two reporters begin investigating who in the small town is making the award-winning wine, mistaken identities, lies and a mix-up of grape juice and wine bottles disrupt the convent’s routine work with great hilarity.

Performances will be November 18 and 20 at 7 p.m. and November 21 at 2 p.m. Admission $15.
