MOTLEY
Christmas in Matador set for Thursday, Dec. 2
MATADOR--Late Night Shopping has long been a holiday tradition in downtown Matador, and this year it’s back to Thursday night in a somewhat different format. According to Stacye Melton with the Better Than a Biscuit, local retailers will be remaining open late hours on Thursday, Dec. 2.
At the Motley County Public Library, the annual Christmas at the Library event will return after last year’s cancellation. “The Library was unable to host the annual event last year due to Covid restrictions” following state-mandated library closures, said librarian Carla Meador, who had also personally suffered from a case of Covid-19 during the year.
“We are happy to get things back on track this year.” The library will host two special guests that Thursday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. “The Grinch has agreed to come to Matador,” said Meador—bringing along Cindy Lou Who from the Dr. Seuss book, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” The pair of characters will visit and take pictures with kids of all ages.
