Paducah kicks off ‘25 Days of Christmas’
PADUCAH—To encourage shoppers to visit Paducah stores, the Paducah Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with local businesses for their annual event called “25 Days of Christmas.”
The Chamber’s goal is to give away at least 35 gifts from local businesses during the month of December. “We are super excited about the response from the Paducah business community,” said Chamber president Delisa Piper. “Business owners are donating great gifts, and we really hope it encourages people to shop in Paducah at our businesses who support this community.”
Registration for 25 Days of Christmas began Monday, Nov. 29. Shoppers can register at the following Paducah businesses: Dixie Maid, Double G’s, Get Dun Up, Mel Mel’s, Paducah Gin and Venture Foods. Look for the metal Christmas tins. The drawing for the first round of prizes will be held Friday, Dec. 3. Subsequent drawings will be held on December 10 and December 17. Drawings for the grand prize, valued at $500, will be held on Thursday, Dec. 23.

Christmas in the Barn, Chili Cook-off Dec. 9 in Crosbyton
CROSBYTON—The Crosbyton Chamber of Commerce will be presenting Christmas in the Barn Thursday, Dec. 9 starting at 5 p.m. at Ericson Farm and Ranch Museum, 101 W. Main Street in Crosbyton.
Festivities include a Chieftain band performance and Santa and Mrs. Claus appearance. The Crosbyton Volunteer Fire Department will be holding a chili cook-off as well, and bowls of chili can be purchased for $5. Free booth space is still available. 16th Annual Big Country Christmas Ball in Snyder Dec. 11
SNYDER—The Big Country Christmas Ball, a 16-year tradition benefitting West Texas Rehabilitation Center in Abilene, will be held Saturday, Dec. 11 at the Invenergy Coliseum in Snyder.
This year’s dance and music features Jody Nix. Doors open at 7 p.m. The dance is from 8 p.m. to midnight, and cost is $15 per person. Tickets can be bought at the door. At the door coolers are welcome. Concessions will be provided by La Tejanita.

Santa Claus, lighted Christmas parade set for Floydada Dec. 16
FLOYDADA—The Floydada Chamber of Commerce has announced that this year’s Santa on the Square will be Thursday, Dec. 16 at Nutthouse Designs in downtown Floydada. Santa Claus will arrive at 5:15 p.m. to start welcoming all the children and will stay until 6:30 p.m., according to chamber manager Kortney deBock.
The Chamber invites members of the community to bring the kids and a camera. There will be crafts for the kids, shopping and a beautiful Christmas card picture worthy backdrop to capture that special moment. Vendors are welcome to set up down California Street at no charge. Please call or text (806) 983-3434 to reserve your spot. There will also be a pulled pork sandwich meal for sale. All proceeds will benefit the Floydada Animal Shelter. Santa will then join the city’s firstever Lighted Christmas Parade, hosted by the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department and starting at 6:30 p.m. at the courthouse square. DeBock welcomed families to “Come on down and enjoy a fun evening with the family in downtown Floydada.”
