Texas Spur Country schools prepare for fall

As the calendar flips from July to August, area students, teachers and school administrators are turning their thoughts from vacations and summer break to gearing up for classes, sports and extracurricular activities.

The Texas Spur reached out to area superintendents for Spur, Craig Hamilton; Jayton, Layne Sheets; and Patton Springs, Bryan White, to find out what parents, guardians and students need to know for the new school.

The Covid-19 pandemic, especially with its latest Delta variant is never too far from parents’ and grandparents’ concerns. We asked superintendents about their Covid-19 protocols for the new year as well.

Spur ISD: Craig Hamilton, Superintendent

Covid-19 protocols

Spur ISD will do everything possible to keep the students and staff of Spur ISD safe. The governor will no longer allow us to mandate masks, but if a student or staff member would like to wear a mask we will encourage and support them in doing so. We will still be running our air purifiers cleaning and disinfecting classrooms daily.
