It is time to drag those carts and golf bags out and get them all dusted off, shined up and ready to roll for the 2023 golf season! It’s going to be a good one!
The regular monthly SGA Board meeting was held on March 8, 2023.
The Super Bowl Square Fundraiser was a great success. Congratulations to the winners and thank you to everyone who participated to make our fundraiser a success. Funds raised were used to purchase new reels for the reel mower, which were much needed.
The 2023 tournament schedule has been set as follows:
• April 29 Youth Baseball Fundraiser 4-Person scramble
• May 20/21 Debbie Daughtry Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser 3-Person scramble. Contact Robert Daughtry for information and entry at (806) 422-1058
• June 10/11 Hackers Tournament 2-Person scramble. Contact Landon Hinson for information and entry at (806) 786-5921. Sponsorships are available.
• TBD Discussion of Ryder Cup – potential dates July 15/16 or 22/23
• July 29 Fat Daddy’s 3-Man scramble
• August 26 SALT Scramble/Alternate shot/Lowball Tournament 2-Person
• September 23 3-Person Shamble
• October 7/8 or 14/15 TBD Club Championship & membership meal The SGA recently started offering the Venmo option for payments. If paying with Venmo, please add 2% of entry fee. We are charged 2% to offer the Venmo option and need to pass that charge on for the convenience.
Green fees for non-members have increased to $15. Please communicate this to any non-members that may be playing in your group. Monthly memberships are $30 for a single, $50 for a family (includes kids under 21). If you play more than twice a month it’s less expensive to get a membership!
Tuesday Scrambles will begin on April 4. These scrambles are lots of fun and a great way to get to know others in our community.
The Association has voted to award a $500 scholarship to a Spur ISD Senior golf team member that will be continuing their education after graduation. Applications will be available very soon in the counselor’s office or from Charla Parsons.
The next meeting will be Wednesday, April 12, at 5:30 p.m. in the clubhouse. Any and all members are welcome and invited to attend.
