After approximately a month on the market with Texas Communities Group, an auction services that helps local communities attract buyers for their tax-delinquent properties, 11 parcels in Spur that did not sell at the most recent sheriff’s sale have drawn bids.
According to Molly Forman with TCG, high bids ranged from $529 to $3,350; only two properties had bids less than $1,000.
A tally of the bid numbers on the website at closing times July 15 and 16 indicated that there had been 109 total bids.
But that’s not quite the end of the road for a sale.
Winning bidders are notified first by email, said Forman, and if there is no response, TCG calls the high bidder at the phone number provided when they placed their bid.
The email notification will inform high bidders how to proceed, which would be to submit payment of the bid and the deed/recording fee of $92. The fee includes the deed fee and filing fee with the Dickens County clerk. Once payment has been received, Forman said, TCG submits information on each bid to each of the taxing entities for consideration.
Auction properties in Spur ranged from vacant lots primarily on the west and south sides of Spur, including in the Freeman addition, while one property was a house on Franklin Avenue on the east side and two others were small Burlington Avenue commercial buildings. Appraised values ranged from $480 to $7,680.
Texas Communities Group does not receive a percentage of sales; it instead bills a set annual fee to its clients, according to Forman.
