Dickens County 4-H held is annual award ceremony on Tuesday, Oct. 17—the first year to be held in the new 4-H Center. Marie Mullins and Ken and Rita Brendle were honored as Friends of 4-H for their generous donation of the First Baptist Church facility in Dickens to be used as the new 4-H building.
Seventeen members completed either a record book or a member achievement record and were awarded end-of-the-year project banners.
Nine members submitted record books to District and five of those won 1st place honors. The 1st place winners were awarded buckles that were provided by sponsors:
• Jaydee Foster, buckle sponsored by Reid and Betsy Arnold
• Lynndee Foster, buckle sponsored by Bryan and Karen Milson
• CalvinHays Chapman, buckle sponsored by Shae Sarchet
• Rylee Foster, Buckle sponsored by Jayne Miller
• Mackenzie Gardner, buckle sponsored by James and Anita Carpenter Additionally, Jaydee Foster and Mackenzie Gardner were each recipients of 2023 Gold Star honors, the highest award a Texas 4-H member may earn.
Danforth “I Dare You!” Award winners were Diezel Ramirez and Jet Ramirez.
The 2023 Bronze Star Winners were CalvinHays Chapman and Rylee Foster.
The 2023 Silver Star Winner was Maddee Foster.
