The road from Spur to Clairemont in Kent County will be closed for bridge repairs, effective Monday, Feb. 6, said Texas Department of Transportation spokesperson for the Abilene Division Alaisha Montoya in comments to The Texas Spur.
“When it is closed, it will be closed for 12 months,” Montoya said. She noted that the bridge that will need repairing is located near US highway 380, mile marker 214. Repairs will extend from State Hwy 280 North to FM 2320.
Drivers will be advised of detour options with signage and directions upon reaching the 280.
The road was previously slated for closure on January 30, but contractors announced the week-long delay.
