If having a good time onValentine’s Day is music to your ears, then the Spur Senior Center will be the place to be.
The Senior Citizens will host aValentine’s Day dinner with karaoke music for entertainment, and according to director Debbie Pritchett, “Elvis Presley will be on hand to entertain.”
Sounds like an interesting evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at 210 Burlington Avenue, and all for only a $10 donation, a fundraiser that will help the non-profit feed those who need a little help. Dinner will be tacos and volunteers have made homemade vanilla ice cream and brownies.
“We hope everyone will come out and have a lot of fun,”said Pritchett.“The music should be a blast. People can sing anything they want, country, gospel, rock, Bill Bilberry has set up our karaoke monitor and speaker which will have the songs –anything you can think of—from YouTube with all of the lyrics.”
There will door prizes as well. Pritchett noted that the event is the Center’s first of the year, but that they hope to do more.“We’re thinking of doing a pancake supper in March as a fundraiser,”she said.
If you’d like to donate a door prize, email the senior center at sscaosdc@caprock-spur.com or call (806) 271-4472.
