WICHITA FALLS—The West made a crucial defensive stop with five seconds left in regulation to secure a 38–34 victory over the East in the Texas Six-Man Coaches Association Division II All-Star game Friday night in Wichita Falls.
In the victorious effort, Jayton’s Pecos Smith was selected as the Offensive MVP for the West team.
The West relied on Smith to maintain possession and secure the win. He rushed for 134 yards and scored two touchdowns, including one from 53 yards out.
With an array of NCAA Division II and Division III athletes on the field, it was Smith who shone the brightest. Smith is planning on attending Midwestern State in the fall and majoring in sports medicine.
