KENT COUNTY ANGEL TREE The Kent County Child Welfare Board Angel Tree is up at the Kent County courthouse. To sponsor a Kent County Angel, stop by the courthouse between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to choose your Angel from the tree. Please remember to bring your unwrapped gifts to the Kent County Courthouse (Gina Coulter's Office) no later than December 17. Please include wrapping paper or gift bags to go with your gifts.
DICKENS COUNTY ANGEL TREE The Dickens County Child Welfare Board Angel Tree is available in the Spur Security Bank lobby for those who would like to provide a gift for a local needy child. Each ornament contains age and clothing size information. All donated gifts will need to be returned to Spur Security Bank by December 16. Please leave gifts unwrapped and put them in a plastic bag.
KENT COUNTY WINTERFEST is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 1, in downtown Jayton, from 4 to 7 p.m., followed by a downtown Electric Light Parade and Cookies and Hot Chocolate at the Square. See details in full story in this issue.
SPUR LATE NIGHT SHOPPING is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 2, along Spur’s Burlington Avenue corridor. Events include late shopping hours at retailers, the Masonic Lodge Pancake Supper, arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus and visits with photos at the Palace Theater, and lighting up Burlington Avenue.
ST. MARY’S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Spur will welcome the Bishop of Lubbock December 12 to St. Mary’s to celebrate Mass in their newly renovated church, 402 East 6th St.
SPUR ISD ANNUAL CHRISTMAS CONCERT featuring Pre-Kindergarteners through 12th grade music and band performances, will take place Thursday, Dec. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the school auditorium, Spur High School, 800 Calvert Ave., Spur. The event is free and open to the public.
