COMING UP IN TEXAS SPUR COUNTRY

MUSEUM OPEN The Spur–Dickens County Museum opened for regular season hours on April 1 and will be open throughout the summer Fridays 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you wish to have a tour of the museum on any other day please call Fronye Morris, (806) 271-3577, Don Wright (806) 271-4520, Woodie McArthur (806) 271-4415 aor Linda Swenson (806) 271-3238.

SPUR THIRD STURDAY TRADE DAYS will be Saturday, April 16 in Swenson Park, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will include an Easter-themed coloring contest for youngsters. Vendor spaces are available; email spurchamber@gmail.com.

DICKENS COMMUNITY EASTER EGG HUNT for kids 12 and under will be Saturday, April 16, at 5 p.m. at Bible Church of the Nazarene, located 1 block south of the Dickens County courthouse at 412 Montgomery Street. It will start with a free hot dogs–and–chili meal, and then the egg hunt will be after the meal. There will be lots of candy and each kid gets a prize. All are welcome.

5th ANNUAL BIG DOG BBQ COOK-OFF is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, June 24–25 in Swenson Park.
