JAYTON POOL, 700 Madison St., is open for the summer 2022 season, with hours from Tuesday through Saturday 1 to 6 p.m. and Sunday 2 to 6 p.m. The last day of swimming will be August 14. The Jayton Pool will be available for pool parties from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at a cost of $150. The facility will also be offering swimming lessons for ages 4 and up. SPUR ADULT SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT will take place in Spur’s Swenson Park Friday night, June 10, 7 p.m. through midnight and Saturday, June 11, starting at 8 a.m. with the championship game played Saturday night at 9:45. Proceeds go to youth camp expenses. Spectators welcome. Water slide entertainment will be provided for youngsters; all-day wristbands available at concession stand, $10.

US HWY 62/82 YARD SALES will take place on Saturday, June 11, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. along US Highway 62/82 for 62 miles from Dickens to Idalou, east of Lubbock. Maps will be available at convenience stores or restaurants in Idalou, Lorenzo, Ralls, Crosbyton and Dickens. The cost for those wishing to be listed on the maps is $10 for individuals and $25 for businesses. SPUR ISD SUMMER FEEDING PROGRAM Spur ISD is required to participate in the Texas Department of Agriculture Summer Feeding Program. The cafeteria will be open each week day beginning Tuesday, May 31, through Thursday, June 30. Any child 18 years and younger will be able to eat lunch for free in the cafeteria. The meal will be served from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The meal will be of the same quality as those served throughout the school year; however, only one entrée will be served each day. Again, any child 18 years old or younger may eat lunch for free. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.

DICKENS COUNTY 4-H HORSE CLUB PLAYDAY SERIES begins Sat., June 4 in the Rodeo Arena in Dickens. Books open at 9 a.m.; event start time is 10 a.m.State 4-H Horse Show rules will apply. There will be four age divisions: Lead Line (6 and under); PeeWee:(8 and under); Junior (9-12); Senior (13-18). Riders must participate in at least two Playdays to be eligible for prizes. Other dates are Sat., June 11 and Sat., June 18. July 9th will be the rain day (scheduled only if rain cancels any previous dates).
