After a week of leak and equipment checking, conservation and boil water notices the four towns—Spur, Post, Crosbyton and Ralls—that are served by the White River Municipal Water District are back to functioning properly.
“Everything is looking real good,” said Shane Jones, WRMWD general manager. “It all came together Friday. We had a water valve that had to be replaced, but when that was fixed, we were able to distribute just like we had before the storm.”
Jones added, “Spur was fixed by late Wednesday or early Thursday, and their help in conserving water allowed us to help the other towns get to sustaining levels.”
All four towns had to turn off their water last week, and Spur was the first to get water back other than intermittently. Water in Crosbyton and Post were out of water until late Thursday. All four towns served by the district were then subject to boil water notices.
By Friday Spur’s boil water notice was over and by Monday morning, all four towns’ boil water notices had ended.
