The Spur girls’ cross country team finished as the sixth best 1A team in the state of Texas at Saturday’s state meet in Round Rock.
The Spurettes represented Spur for the fourth consecutive year at the state meet. Bucki Smith was the top individual placing 14th with her personal record of 12:42 and missing the medal stand by just four places. She made the CCCAT All-State team.
The Spur boys’ cross country team as the 7th best 1A team in the state. Jorden Zarate was the top individual placing fifth overall with a personal record of 16:20 and medaling. He also made the CCCAT All-State team.
