TURKEY VFD SETS INDEPENDENCE DAY EVENTS FOR JULY 7

The Turkey Volunteer Fire Department has set its annual Independence Day Celebration for Sunday, July 7. They will be hosting burgers-and-hot dogs cookout in the park in downtown Turkey.

Event organizers said that the 4th falling on aThursday presented a scheduling problem, and they didn’t want any conflicts with the celebration being the same night as that of any neighboring fire departments. Also, their featured band was only available on July 7.

The celebration will feature food, door prizes, live music from Cecil White and Friends, and a fireworks show. The fireworks show will be even better this year, as the Turkey VFD had an extra $1,000 donated to the fireworks fund.
