Cody and I will be married for 22 years in August. We have two sons, Graden, a freshman at Texas Tech University majoring in Animal Science/Business and Garrison, a freshman at Jayton High School. Garrison participates in football, basketball, tennis, golf, track & field events, FFA, UIL One Act Play and Science.
The students at JGISD are my top priority and I will do my part to facilitate the best environment for them to learn and grow daily so that their success does not end in Jayton but follows them after graduation.
I believe the teachers and staff at JGISD need a work environment where they can thrive as a team unit and grow as professionals.
Jayton Culture is like no other and I fully understand the importance of excellence in academics, athletics, & extracurricular activities, which follows students when they graduate from High School.

What areas of public policy or community issues
matter most to you?
When I think of the responsibility of a school board member, I think that our leadership and decision making must always be predicated on the nurturing, growth and future of our students. We must also diligently seek that which is for the good of the whole community, rather than the few. We must have the ability to walk the fine line of cost and efficiency while still maintaining the integrity and character of the ones who came before us. We must not just maintain, but must strive to move forward.

Key messages of your campaign— What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals if you are elected/ re-elected? How would you distinguish your experience, qualifications, and public service from those of your opponent(s)?
1. First and foremost I am here to listen, learn, and make the most informed and impartial decisions that I can.
2. In 2020, I brought my family back to its roots here in Kent County. This town and school system have been instrumental in making me who I am today. I want to help by giving back to this community so it’s here for the next five generations of my family.
3. It is the responsibility of every school board to support its students, staff, and administration by setting and upholding good policy, confirming a reasonable schedule, and administering a balanced budget.
What areas of public policy or community issues matter most to you?
It is our job, as a community, to prepare the next generation of students as best we can before they step across the threshold and out into the world. What better way can we work toward this goal than by laying for them a foundation of faith and personal responsibility? These kids are our legacy and hope for a better tomorrow.

1. I have learned a lot over the past three years and feel I can really make a difference with the newly hired superintendent. I feel we can work together to set JGISD apart, we are on so many levels but know we can take it to the next level.
2. As a board member you have to go every meeting with an open mind, you cannot have made your mind up before you go into a board meeting or you are doing an injustice to the students and staff at JGISD.
3. Know your role as a trustee which is to hire a superintendent, be wise on the finances of JGISD and follow the policies or set new policies to make JGISD successful!
What areas of public policy or community issues matter most to you? My biggest area of concern would be making sure every student that leaves JGISD is ready to be a successful adult in today’s world whether that be in education or just life itself, enjoying JGISD and making memories that will last a lifetime!

Key messages of your campaign—What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals if you are elected/ re-elected? How would you distinguish your experience, qualifications, and public service from those of your opponent(s)?
1: I served 8 years as a JGISD Board Trustee then I stepped away for the last two years for a break and I am excited about getting back on the school board because I believe with my knowledge and experience, I can contribute to the existing board members to form a truly great and cohesive group of Trustees that JGISD deserves.
2: I believe in allowing the school administration to take care of their responsibilities, and the Board of Trustees performs their role and nothing else.
3: I will bring my strong Christian values and open mind to each meeting to make the best decisions possible for the good of our school and for preparing our students for life after graduation.
What areas of public policy or community issues matter most to you?
My first year as a JGISD Trustee ten years ago, we had 123 students enrolled is school K-12. Now, we have a wonderful total of 177 students enrolled. Through good leadership and service from our previous administrations and staff, JGISD is the leaders in our district in academic and athletic programs. I strive to make JGISD even better by continuing to invest and expanding programs to attract even more families and students. We need to continue to be good stewards of financial resources and balance our budget while achieving our goals. My main thing is prepare our students to be good, productive, confident, and responsible citizens upon graduation of JGISD.
