It is time for Christmas Crafts!
Monday, Dec. 2 from 4:30 until 7:30, join me at the library for Christmas crafts. We will be making either a snowman or penguin out of a bowling pin (there are a limited quantity of these, so first come, first served) and a decorative cup of hot chocolate out of a planter. Hot glue will be involved, so children must have a parent or guardian present. All materials are included, but if you have any extras feel free to bring your own. Pass the word and let everyone know. We always have a lot of fun during craft time at the library.
The Friends of the Library are selling chances to win a 9’ Frosty the Snowman inflatable donated by Gemmy Industries. Other prizes are a $50 gift certificate donated by Lawrence Brothers Grocery, two $25 gift certificates donated by Salt Fork Outfitters, and a gift basket donated by Dana’s Pharmacy.
The drawing will be held Thursday, Dec. 5 at the Late Night Holiday Market held at the Spur Senior Citizens Center. Frosty is on display at the library until the night of the drawing. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5 and can be purchased from any library board member or at the library. We will sell tickets up until the time of the drawing, and you do not have to be present to win.
New at the library this week in large print is “Shadow of Doubt.” In a world shrouded in shadows, where doubt is the only weapon, can one spy expose the truth? #1 New York Times and #1 Wall Street Journal bestselling author Brad Thor delivers his latest high-octane thriller.
Also new in large print is “Harbor Lights,” a dynamic, gripping collection of short stories from “America’s best novelist” (Denver Post), the New York Times bestselling James Lee Burke.
