Hometown: I was born and raised in Spur, Texas.
Education: I graduated Spur High School in 1980 and then attended Western Texas College in Snyder for a year. In 1982, I received by ECA certification and then my EMT-B through Texas Tech University. I received my Peace Officer license through the South Plains Association of Governments in 1984.
Occupation: I am currently the Chief Deputy here in Dickens County and an EMT-B with Dickens County My wife, Becky, and I have been married for 11 years, and together we have 4 children and 6 grandchildren.
Interests: My interests are spending time with family, riding my motorcycle, and hunting when I get the chance.
made mistakes in the 41 years I have served as a peace officer, but I have also learned from them and continue to become better at all I do. What areas of public policy or community issues matter most to you? I believe that all public issues and concerns are a priority, and that the sheriff’s office should have an opendoor policy for all citizens, I believe a good working relationship with neighboring counties is a must. Because we are a small county, outside resources are vital for positive outcomes.
