HELP IS ON THE WAY
On Tuesday morning, Aug. 5, two longawaited things arrived at 501 Hill Street in Spur, Texas: an air conditioning repair truck and a heavy crane to lift new equipment onto the roof of the Dollar General. The store has been without air conditioning for approximately two weeks, and closed entirely since July 31, according to Facebook posts. The problem left loyal customers with fewer shopping options, and staff with curtailed paid working hours. Reese Riordan with Trumble Crane said that a coil for the HVAC unit was being placed; a Nextech HVAC van was on site. Store manager Becky Vargas said that repair and reopening might still take a few days. | KAY ELLINGTON, BEVERLY PICKETT PHOTOS
