Early voting in the Dickens County Sheriff primary runoff election between candidates Jay Allen and Jerry Schmidt has been robust this week. As of 2:30 Friday afternoon, 261 early votes had been cast.
In the March Primary 642 votes were cast for sheriff when it was a three-way race. Early voting continued at the Dickens County Courthouse Annex until 7:00 p.m. Friday.
Polls were not set to close until 7 p.m. on Election Day Tuesday, May 28; The Texas Spur will post unofficial results on our Facebook page Tuesday night as soon as they are available.
