Galaxy inks major deal for Dickens’ Helios to host services for CoreWeave

LEASE TO GENERATE $4.5 BILLION

It’s the news we’ve been waiting to hear—news that will bring jobs and dollars to Dickens County’s doorstep.

Galaxy Digital, whose Helios data center is based in northern Dickens County and currently building out a second phase, announced Friday it had entered a 15-year lease for Helios with cloud-computing firm CoreWeave. Galaxy plans to deliver 133 megawatts of electrical power to its new client for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing.

Galaxy representatives said they expect to generate around $4.5 billion in revenue throughout the lease.

Livingston, New Jersey–based CoreWeave, led by cofounder and CEO Mike Intrator, is a cloud-computing company that specializes in providing cloud-based graphics processing unit infrastructure to artificial intelligence developers. It specializes in providing cloud-based graphics processing unit (GPU) infrastructure to artificial intelligence developers.

According to industry sources, CoreWeave's customers include AI startup Cohere, Meta, NVIDIA, IBM, and Microsoft, the latter of which is its largest customer.
