In last week’s UIL 1A District 15 Academic Contest held March ___ in ____, Jayton High School claimed the top spot in overall school sweepstakes, with 791 points. Aspermont finished 2nd with 414 points and Rule 3rd with 179, followed by Hamlin with 121, Rotan with 91, Haskell Paint Creek with 14 and Lueders-Avoca with 6.
INDIVIDUAL SUBJECT RESULTS
I n Accounting, the team of Zech Mosley, Abigail Mosley, Jace Chisum and Tucker Scott took 1st place with 1031 points and advances to Region. Zech Mosley took 1st place, Abigail Mosley took 2nd Jace Chisum took 3rd (all advancing to Region); Tucker Scott in 4th, Jesse Yanez in 5th Brantley Ham in 6th will be Regional Alternate In Calculator Applications, the team of Abigail Mosley, Jace Chisum, Camryn Arnold and Zyphera Dreisden took 1st place with 379 points and will advance to Region. In individual competition Abigail Mosley finished in 1st place, Jace Chisum finished in 2nd and Camryn Arnold finished in 3rd (all advancing to Region); Zyphera Dreisden came in 4th and Sidney Hall in 5th (both serving as Regional Alternates) and Tucker Scott finished 9th.
In Copy Editing, Melody McClane finished in 1st place and Jace Chisum finished in 2nd; both qualify to advance to Region.
In Current Issues and Events, the team of Dayton Bleiker, Cooper Spray, Keera Awe and Bode Ham took 2nd place with 114 points and will be Regional Alternate. Cooper Spray took 2nd place and will advance to Region. Dayton Bleiker took 5th place and Keera Awe took 6th; both will be Regional Alternates. Bode Ham finished 11th and Sean Stanaland finished 17th. In Editorial, Melody Mc-Clane took 1st place and Lainey Baldridge took 2nd; both advance to Region. Brodee Clay took 5th place and will be Regional Alternate.

In Headline Writing, Melody McClane finished in 1st place and will advance to Region. Lainey Baldridge took 4th place and will be Regional Alternate.
In Informative Speaking, Melody McClane finished in 2nd place and Colt Gentry took 3rd; both will advance to Region. Ella Long took 5th place and will be Regional Alternate.
In Lincoln Douglas Debate, Jesse Yanez finished 1st, Brylen Bezner finished 2nd and Cash Chisum finished in 3rd; all three will advance to Region.
In Literary Criticism, the team of Lainey Baldridge, Sidney Hall, Aaron Patridge and Reese Redford took 1st place with 106 points and advance to Region. Lainey Baldridge took 1st place and Sidney Hall took 3rd place to advance to Region; Aaron Patridge took 4th place and Reese Redford took 5th, with both serving as Regional Alternates. Baylee Glasson finished 11th and Abigail Mosley finished 13th.
In Mathematics, the team of Zech Mosley, Abigail Mosley, Jace Chisum and Taylor Schroeder finished in 1st place with 126 points and will advance to Region. In individual results Zech Mosley finished 1st and advances to Region, Jace Chisum and Abigail Mosley tied for 5th and will be Regional Alternates. Taylor Schroeder finished in 8th place, Cooper Spray in 11th and Tucker Scott in 18th.
In News Writing, Lainey Baldridge took 1st place and Brodee Clay took 2nd; both advance to Region.
In Number Sense, the team of Zech Mosley, Abigail Mosley, Benjamin Baldridge and Jace Chisum took 1st place with 206 points, advancing to Region. Zech Mosley finished in 1st place, Abigail Mosley finished in 2nd and Jace Chisum and Benjamin Baldridge tied for 3rd (all four advancing to Region); Tucker Scott finished 7th and Taylor Schroeder finished 13th.
In Persuasive Speaking, Dayton Bleiker took 1st place and Cooper Spray took 2nd; both will advance to Region. Casey Spray finished 4th and will be Regional Alternate.
In Poetry Interpretation, Griffith Reel took 1st place and Ella Long took 2nd; both will advance to Region. Hallie Humphries finished 4th and will be Regional Alternate.
In Prose Interpretation, Colt Gentry took 2nd place and will advance to Region. Reese Redford finished 4th and Kirby Miller finished 5th; both will be Regional Alternates.
In ReadyWriting, Melody McClane took 1st place, Lainey Baldridge took 2nd and Baylee Glasson took 3rd; all three will advance to Region.
In Science, the team of Camryn Arnold, Ethan Pendergast, Benjamin Baldridge and Taylor Schroeder finished 2nd with 74 points and will be Regional Alternate. In individual competition Camryn Arnold finished 1st and will advance to Region. Ethan Pendergast finished 6th and will be Regional Alternate. Benjamin Baldridge finished 15th,Taylor Schroeder finished 18th, and Garrison Allen and Sean Stanaland tied for 19th.
Biology top scorers included Camryn Arnold with 34 points and advancing to Region. Chemistry top scorers; Arnold also finished as a top Chemistry scorer.
Physics top scorers included Ethan Pendergast, with 12 points, advancing to Region; and Sean Stanaland, Taylor Schroeder and Camryn Arnold, each with 6 points.
In Social Studies, the team of Garrison Allen, Aaron Patridge, Brantley Ham and Hunter Abernathy finished in 1st place with 69 points and advance to Region. Jayton’s individual results were Garrison Allen, 6th place, Regional Alternate; Aaron Patridge, 9th; Brantley Ham, 11th; Hunter Abernathy, 13th; Bode Ham, 15th; and Remi Long, 18th place.
In Spelling, the team of Reese Redford, Kylea George, Ethan Carothers and Kirby Miller finished in 3rd with 44 points. Reese Redford took 3rd place and advances to Region. Kylea George took 7th place, Ethan Carothers took 10th and Kirby Miller took 13th.
In Speech, the Jayton team took 1st Place with 199 points.
In Journalism, the Jayton team took 1st Place with 131 points.
