LESLI RUSH CLARK
It was a hot night for the Tuesday evening scramble. Thirty-three scramblers showed up to participate, and eight teams were formed.
Rolling back to the clubhouse at 5 under par and a score of 31 were the teams of Mike Day, Janie Day, DeShawn Yarbrough and Daniel Perez and the team of Brice Bownds, Landon White, Cammie Walker and Jimmy Ashley. The teams agreed to have a playoff to break the tie. Starting out on Hole No. 1, both teams tied up again with a par. A chip off was agreed upon wherein the Bownds team was triumphant with a winning chip by Cammie Walker to take home the 1st place money for the week. The Day team claimed the 2nd-place money.
Returning to the clubhouse tied at 3 under par and a score of 33 were the team of Freddy Gonzalez, Justin Posey, Robert Daugherty and Eddie Clark and the team of Shane Shobert, Lisa Shobert, Tyler Luke and Preston Abbott. After a scorecard playoff, the Gonzalez team won the 3rd place money for the week.
Congratulations to Daniel Perez for winning the No. 8 money with his drive landing 9 feet 5 inches from the cup. Way to go, Daniel.
Brice Bownds took home the No. 1 money pot with his drive landing on the green.
Thank you to everyone who came out to endure the heat and play.
