LIBRARY NOTES

Thanks for volunteers’ ‘Valen’-time

Thank you so much to our crafters who joined me for this week’s craft time at the library! With this group’s help we managed to make Valentines for the residents of Kent County Nursing Home and some of the senior residents of Spur.

Alicia Vasquez and I took the valentines to Jayton Wednesday morning and were able to visit with a few of the residents. (Thank you to Johnna and the staff at Kent County Nursing Home for all you do! You have a great facility.) Debbie at the Spur Senior Center made sure the residents of Spur got their valentines with their meals Thursday.

We have had quite a few people come to the library and take advantage of our book sale we have going on. We still have plenty to choose from.

We have a new author in our area. Malori Rogers, who survived a hemorrhagic stroke on the volleyball court during her senior year of college, recently moved to the area with her husband and two young children. After surviving the stroke she learned how to find God and his will by seeing life through a spiritual lens. Her inspirational book, “A Stroke of Heaven,” offers encouragement to everyone who faces the trials that come with life and a transparent, spirit-filled, honest testimony to the heavenly father and his powerful nature. Rogers with her two young children came into the library recently. She is a lovely young woman. We have a copy of “A Stroke of Heaven” available to check out at the library.

Thank you to Pasqual Jimenez who donated quite a few DVDs to the library. We have added quite a few new DVDs to our collection. Here are just a few of the new titles added to the DVDs; “Miss Congeniality 2,” “Patriots Day,” “Madea’s Class Reunion,” “Godzilla,” “The Box,” “Cold Pursuit,” “Resident Evil Degeneration,” “The Meg,” “Despicable Me 4,” “Blue Beetle,” “Tyler Perry’s Boo,” and a four movie set of Jamie Fox movies including, “Miami Vice,” “Jarhead,” “The Kingdom,” and “Ray.”

Check it out at the library.
