LIBRARY NOTES

New large print books added to library collection

First, we’d like to extend our sincere apologies for misspelling the name of William Barlow Neaves in last week’s column. We deeply regret the error and appreciate your understanding.

This week, the library mourns the loss of a beloved patron, Pasqual “Junior” Jimenez. Junior was a kind and cheerful presence, always greeting others with a warm smile. He had a special fondness for our DVD section and generously donated many titles from his personal collection to share with the community. His absence will be felt deeply by staff and fellow patrons alike. In his memory, a monetary donation has been made to the Friends of the Library to help expand our DVD offerings, an enduring tribute to his love of film and generosity.

The Friends of the Library would also like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Judy Clay for her generous donation. Her support helps us continue providing valuable resources and programs to our community.

We’re grateful to Carrie Blair for hosting the Medicare Q&A session at the library this past week. Several citizens approaching age 65 gained valuable insights into the Medicare program, and we appreciate Carrie’s time and expertise.

Thanks to a generous donation from the Tocker Foundation, the library has added several new large print books to our collection:

“Do Not Disturb” by Freida McFadden. A gripping psychological thriller about a woman on the run after killing her abusive husband. Stranded at a snowed-in motel, she discovers that danger may be closer than she thinks.

“Outlaw Country” by William W. Johnstone and J.A. Johnstone. A Western adventure following Smoke Jensen and his new bride Sally as they face tragedy, outlaws, and the founding of the legendary Sugarloaf Ranch.

“Wayward Girls” by Susan Wiggs. Based on true events, this powerful historical novel tells the story of six girls confined to a Catholic reform school in 1960s Buffalo. It’s a tale of survival, friendship, and redemption.

“A Truth Revealed” by Tracie Peterson. Set in the American West, this Christian historical romance follows Laura Evans and preacher Wilson Porter as they navigate faith, tragedy, and love amid dark family secrets.

We’re thrilled to offer these new titles in largeprint format to better serve our patrons.

With summer reading wrapped up and school back in session, Story Time with Joanna has resumed for preschool-aged children. Join us every Thursday at 10:00 a.m. for delightful stories and creative crafts perfect for sparking young imaginations.

Thank you for continuing to support your local library. Check it out at the library.
