Cap Rock Telephone is officially recognized by NTCA, The Rural Broadband Association, as a “Gig-Certified Provider.” Previously designated as a Smart Rural Community provider, the Gig-Certification now distinguishes Cap Rock Telephone as a rural provider that can provide Gigabit Internet service to its customers. Gigabit bandwidth will allow Cap Rock customers the increased capacity to do more and connect more devices. “This super-fast connection is best for homes with multiple smart devices and multiple users, or for users that spend a lot of time doing data-intensive activities online,” said the cooperative. “Although Gigabit Internet is currently not available in our entire service area, we continue our fiber construction project to bring fiber service to as many customers as possible.” – Cap Rock Telephone newsletter, August 2024
