The Texas Plains Trail Region, Texas Association of Museums, and Texas Historical Commission have joined forces to bring a series of hands-on workshops to West Texas cities over the next few weeks.
The workshops are designed to elevate the impact of museums though engaging, practical workshops rooted in the region. “Volunteers and staff and strengthen leadership, streamline governance, and connect with a community of museum professionals,” said TPTR executive director Allison Kendrick.
Topics include:
• Nonprofit Governance & Museum Standards – Clarify legal responsibilities and align with best practices
• Board Roles & Responsibilities – Define duties to create a strong, effective board • Mission, Vision & Values – Ensure your leadership decisions align with your museum’s purpose
• Leadership in Action – Discover strategies for advocacy, partnerships, and long-term planning Plus, participants can take advantage of optional site visits and ongoing support from the Texas Plains Trail Region’s Executive Director and board members. Build connections and foster collaboration with museum leaders in your region.
The workshop is a collaboration between the Texas Plains Trail Region, Texas Association of Museums, and Texas Historical Commission.
The same workshop is offered in four different locations to meet convenience.
The workshop fee is $35 per attendee.
