SEMI-FINAL CHAMPS The Spur varsity girls’ basketball team, the Spurettes, won the Regional Semifinal last week, defeating Kress 42-35 and advancing further into the post-season playoffs than any Spur team since 2017. The Spurettes’ season ended Friday night, when they lost 68-30 to the Borden County Lady Coyotes, the same team who upset the #1 team in the State and last year’s State runners-up, the Valley Lady Patriots. The Spurettes were just one win away from heading to the UIL state tournament. | DANA CONRAD PHOTOS
