LUNCH ALSO AVAILABLE FOR HISTORY RAMBLE
The weather forecast is looking good for two special events coming up in Spur this weekend: warm enough for a comfortable ramble through the hinterlands but cool enough for a tasty chili lunch.
While the Dickens County Historical Commission is sponsoring the former—a program that starts at 10:30 a.m. at the Palace Theater with former state historian Bill O'Neal and concludes with an afternoon drive out to two historic gravesites—the Spur Area Chamber of Commerce had already announced its first annual Chili Cook-off for the same date.
The cook-off provides a couple dozen visitors coming to Spur from various points a handy way to feed a crowd.
